Updated Data Sheets Available for Edition 4.0 DVD sets
At the time of the production of Terrain Navigator Pro, version 8.51 (June 2009) MyTopo updated all NGS Data Sheets included with Terrain Navigator Pro - and included them on the Edtion 4.0 DVD set. Customers with older editions of the Professional USGS Topographic Series CDs may wish to consider upgrading to the DVD set, if up-to-date NGS Data Sheets are of use.

DVD Upgrades are typically $25 per State (or region in New England or Mid-Atlantic) and can only be ordered by calling us directly at 877-587-9004.

Those with Edition 4.0 (or later) DVD sets can download current NGS Data Sheets by logging into their Registration account. As part of the annual subscription (which also includes aerial photos, map/photo editions, software updates/upgrades, and unlimited technical support) the NGS data sheets are processed and posted on a regular basis.


How To Download and Install
Click the Registration link at the top of this page and log into your existing MyTopo (formerly Maptech) account. (Do not create a new account, see below.) Once logged in, click the link 'Go to account and downloads'. As long as your subscription for software updates and map/aerial photos is current, you will have a link in your account to download the updated NGS Data Sheets for each State.

When you installed Terrain Navigator Pro, an account was created in your name with the registration information that you entered. Your email address is the user name on the account. If you have not yet logged into your account, the password is likely to be a series of random letters and numbers - click on the 'I forgot my password' link to have it emailed to you. (If you need assistance, please call us at 877-587-9004 and we'll be happy to help.)

Click the Download NGS Update link in your registration account for each State in your collection of DVDs. In most instances, your web browser will ask if the file should be Run or Saved. Choose Run (if Save is the only option, choose Save, then double-click it in your list of Downloads to run it.) Once the download completes, it will be applied to your Terrain Navigator installation.

If you receive a warning that this application is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer, press Actions, then Run anyway.

Please note: Do NOT download this update into your existing Terrain Navigator Pro Program Files directory. Doing so will corrupt your installation, requiring a complete re-install to correct.


Why am I being asked to log into an account to download this update?
Starting with version 8.6 of Terrain Navigator Pro, we are asking customers to log into their account before downloading any updates. While the updates remain free (for current subscribers), this process allows us to better serve you with frequent updates and new features.


If I have the older CD sets, can I download updated NGS data sheets?
Unfortunately, due to the format used by the older CDs, it is not possible to produce timely NGS data sheet updates for earlier map editions. Thus, in order to be able to release updated NGS data sheets on a regular basis, we are restricting these updates to those with the Professional USGS Topographic Series DVD Edition 4.0 or later.

Customers with the older CD editions may call us at 877-587-9004 to replace them with the newer DVDs. There is a $25 fee to cover the costs of the discs, etc.


When are the NGS Data Sheets Updated?
At a minimum, the data sheets are updated at least once a year. More frequent updates can be posted based upon customer request, or as time and resources permit.

09/05/12 - NGS sheets updated to 8/2012 (Corrected from 8/22/12 download for multi-DVD states.)
