DISCUSSION

To understand the following message:

Copied 1 map to the hard drive.
Deleted 1 map from the hard drive.

you need to be aware how the Copy Maps to Hard Drive function operates.

When you enter the Copy Maps to Hard Drive window, you see a grid which indicates the various maps available in that CD/DVD region. Switch between 1:12,000 aerial photos, 1:24,000/25,000 maps, 1:100,000 maps, and 1:250,000 maps with the 'Map Type' selector. Then, adjust the Coverage to see the grid at an appropriate scale. Once you have selected the desired type, you can choose the maps (or photos) you wish to copy.

Each square in the map grid will appear one of three ways:

- Transparent: This indicates that the map has not been copied to the HD.

- Filled Gray: This indicates that the map has already been copied to the HD.

- Solid Black: You have selected this map to be copied to the HD.

Now, if you click on a Transparent square it will become black. This indicates that the map will be copied to the HD.

If you click on a Gray square it will become transparent. This indicates that the map will be deleted from the HD.

If you click on a Transparent square (that was once gray) it will become black. This indicates that the map will be copied to the HD (after it was deleted).

So, if you click on a gray square twice, it will go from gray to clear to black. Press OK, and you'll get a 'Copied 1 map / Deleted 1 map' message - because that is what it did.
